Our Lady of Lourdes RC Primary School

Despite being the second cheapest tender we were awarded the project by the head due to the successful projects that we had previously carried out at her school.

The main aim of the project was to create a new admin area for the staff which included a new staffroom, meeting room, heads office, toilets and secretary’s office/reception. Once the new facility was complete the existing staff quarters were reconfigured and refurbished to create more teaching space.

The works were located at the main entrance to the site in an area where the children enter and exit the school. The working areas were fenced and hoarded off to ensure that there was a physical barrier between the working site and the pupils, staff and visitors. As is the case of shared/close proximity access we had to ensure that deliveries and vehicle movements were organised so that they did not coincide with the times when pupils could be at risk, i.e. the school start, lunch and finish time to ensure the safety of the children and parents.

The works were completed on program, to a high standard, within budget, to the satisfaction of and minimal disruption to the school and without any safety incidents.

We have since carried out further works at the school, including window replacements, works to the hall, corridor refurbishments, classroom refurbishments and an extension to create a new kitchen (photos below).
